Metorik is a hosted reporting and email platform that syncs your WooCommerce data to its own servers and prices by orders per month. StorePinger is a WordPress plugin that keeps everything in your store's own database, adds live visitors and session recordings, and prices per site. Here is how they compare, with Metorik facts taken from metorik.com as of November 2026.

The short answer
If you run several stores across WooCommerce and Shopify, live in cohort and profit reports, and are happy for order data to sync to an outside service, Metorik is built for that. If you want reports, live visitors, sales by source, cart recovery and session recordings inside WordPress, with nothing about your visitors leaving your hosting, StorePinger is built for that. Many stores need one or the other, not both.
What is a Metorik alternative?
A Metorik alternative is any tool that answers the same core questions, sales, customers, products, sources and abandoned carts for a WooCommerce store, by a different method. Metorik's method is to sync store data to its own infrastructure and run reports there. The main alternatives either run inside WordPress, as StorePinger does, or rely on WooCommerce's built-in Analytics plus separate email and recovery plugins.
How Metorik works, per metorik.com
Metorik describes itself as bringing "real-time store data, analytics, reports and email marketing into one powerful, intuitive tool". It supports WooCommerce, Shopify and Shopify Plus. A store connects through the Metorik Helper plugin, which per its WordPress.org listing "syncs your data over to our high-performance infrastructure" using webhooks and a check every 15 minutes, and includes cart and source tracking. Reports, processing and exports run on Metorik's servers. The pricing page says "All your historical orders will be synced over to Metorik during the initial import."
The feature list on the pricing page includes reports and analytics, segmenting, cohort reports, custom dashboards, email automation, abandoned carts, data exports, subscription reporting, forecasts, and cost and profit tracking, with unlimited contacts and support for connecting multiple stores. Engage covers automated flows, broadcasts and abandoned cart emails with dynamic discounts. Digests deliver scheduled sales reports by email or Slack.
How StorePinger works
StorePinger is an analytics and cart recovery plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce, made by Everon Digital LLC. Data is stored in the store's own WordPress database and hosting. Nothing about visitors is sent to StorePinger. The tracker sets no cookies, using a random id in the browser's local storage, and IP addresses are used only for the country or city lookup and are not stored. It needs WordPress 6.2 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer, and works with the classic and block WooCommerce checkout.
Pro covers live visitors with city and a live activity feed, visitor journeys, traffic sources including Google and Meta ads, email and AI tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, sales by source, pages, devices, the conversion funnel, button clicks, forms, site search and 404s, session recordings stored on your own hosting with inputs masked, abandoned cart recovery, cart offers, payment links, email marketing, store reports, email and app alerts, sales by city, CSV export, the llms.txt writer and the mobile app.

Data location, in plain terms
This is the question that usually decides between the two. With Metorik, the helper plugin sends orders, customers, products and, by its own listing, cart and source data to Metorik's infrastructure, and the reports are built there. That is what makes Metorik fast across large catalogs and able to combine WooCommerce and Shopify stores in one account. It also means your privacy policy has to name Metorik as a processor of customer data, and that the data lives under Metorik's terms.
With StorePinger, nothing leaves the store. Visits, carts, recordings and reports sit in the WordPress database on your own hosting. Your privacy policy describes your own server. If you cancel, the data is still in your database. The trade-off is that reports are built on your hosting, so a very large store needs hosting sized for it, and there is no cross-platform view.
Reporting depth compared
Metorik's listed reports go deeper on customers and money: cohorts, forecasts, cost and profit tracking, subscription reporting and saved customer segments applied across reports. StorePinger's store reports cover sales, average order value, coupons, refunds, customers and stock, with email reports and alerts, sales by city for ad targeting, custom date ranges and CSV export.
StorePinger goes deeper on behaviour before the order: who is on the store right now, which page they are on, what is in their cart, the path they took, which button they clicked, where they left the funnel, and a recording of what they saw. Metorik's pages read for this comparison did not list live visitors or session recordings. If your weekly question is "which customers are worth more over twelve months", Metorik's reports are aimed at it. If it is "why did yesterday's visitors not buy", StorePinger's are.
An example with round numbers
This is a worked example, not a customer result, and Metorik's price at each order tier should be checked on its slider. Take a single WooCommerce store averaging 600 orders a month. Metorik bills by that average, so the price rises as the store grows. StorePinger Pro is $49.99 a year for that store whether it takes 60 orders a month or 6,000. An agency running 20 client stores would compare Metorik's per-store order-based price against StorePinger Agency at $999.99 a year for up to 35 sites.
The bigger difference is not price. It is what each tool is for. A finance-minded owner who wants cohort retention and profit after costs will find more of that in Metorik. An owner who wants to see who is on the store now, which source sold today, and why carts were abandoned will find more of that in StorePinger.

- Owners comfortable with order and customer data syncing to an outside platform.
Who should choose StorePinger
- WooCommerce stores that want analytics and data to stay inside WordPress.

- Stores that want AI assistants like ChatGPT named as a traffic source.
- Owners who prefer one flat yearly price per site over order-based pricing.

Limits of StorePinger
- WordPress and WooCommerce only. No Shopify.

- Email marketing contacts are capped: 2,000 on Pro, 10,000 per site on Agency.
- History is 90 days on Pro and 1 year on Agency.
- The free plan covers live visitors, the world map, visitors by country, today's visitors and page views only.
Switching from Metorik
- Install StorePinger on the store and leave Metorik connected for a month so both run side by side.
- Export any Metorik reports you need for records. StorePinger starts collecting data from installation and does not import past visits.
- Set up cart recovery and email reports in StorePinger and turn off the matching flows in Metorik Engage, so shoppers do not get two reminders.
- Compare sales by source in both for the same month.
- When you are satisfied, disconnect the Metorik Helper plugin.
