StorePinger / WooCommerce Abandoned Cart Recovery
WooCommerce abandoned cart recovery that runs inside WordPress.
StorePinger saves every WooCommerce cart the moment something is added, sends two friendly reminders with a one-click link back to checkout, and lets you send a one-time coupon to the carts you choose. No outside email tool, and the data stays in your own database.

The problem
Why do WooCommerce stores lose so many carts?
Most shoppers who add to cart never pay. The documented average cart abandonment rate is about 70%, according to the Baymard Institute. Out of the box, WooCommerce keeps no list of those carts, so nobody follows up.
WooCommerce does not show who left
An unfinished checkout is not an order, so WooCommerce has no record of it. You cannot see the cart, the products or the shopper.
Many shoppers never type an email
Most people leave from the product or cart page, long before checkout. A recovery plugin that waits for the checkout email misses them.
The first hours matter
A reminder while the product is still on their mind is more useful than one a week later.
Separate tools don’t talk
A recovery plugin that cannot see your analytics cannot tell you which source or city your recovered sales came from. StorePinger can.
How it works
How does abandoned cart recovery work in StorePinger?
Every cart is saved
The cart is saved as soon as something is added, even before an email is known. Logged-in customers are linked to their account email automatically.
The email, when they give it
The email is saved as it is typed at checkout, on the classic and block checkout. Shoppers who are leaving with a full cart can be asked to save their cart with their email.
Two automatic reminders
By default 3 hours and 24 hours after the cart was left, plus one month-start reminder. Change the timing and the words, or switch any off.
Coupons only when you decide
Pick a discount and the carts. Each shopper gets their own one-time code that expires: by email, or as a notice on your store when they come back.
Recovered revenue, measured
An order counts as recovered only once it is paid, and it is noted on the WooCommerce order.
Cart offers
Send a coupon to the carts you choose.
StorePinger never sends discounts on its own, so shoppers do not learn to abandon carts to get one. When you want to win carts back, a notice on your WordPress dashboard shows how many are waiting. Choose the discount and the carts, and StorePinger creates a unique, single-use code for each shopper.
- Percent or fixed discount, valid for the hours you choose
- Shoppers with an email get it by email
- Guests without an email see it on your store when they come back
- The code is tied to the shopper’s email when known, and works once
15% off · one-time code per shopper · valid 48 hours
Emails that look like your store
Your logo, your colors, your words.
Reminder emails use your store name, logo and WooCommerce email color. They show product photos, quantities and the cart total, so the shopper remembers exactly what they wanted.
- Editable subject and message for each email, with {name} and {store}
- Product images, prices and cart total added automatically
- One-click unsubscribe header for Gmail and Yahoo
- Send yourself a test email before going live

Respectful by design
Reminders people don’t hate.
Every email has an unsubscribe link with a confirm step, and one unsubscribe covers cart reminders and your email campaigns. Shoppers who already ordered, even on another device, get nothing. Staff and admins are never tracked.
- No email if the customer has since ordered
- One unsubscribe list for reminders and campaigns
- One cart per shopper, so no duplicate emails
- Optional privacy note under the checkout email field
More than recovery
Most recovery plugins only see the cart. StorePinger sees the shopper.

The money on the table
How much are abandoned carts worth to your store?
An example with round numbers. Put in your own and see what is waiting in your carts. Results depend on your products, prices and traffic.
| Example: a store with 400 started checkouts a month | Per month |
|---|---|
| Shoppers who start checkout | 400 |
| Carts left behind (about 70%) | 280 |
| Carts with an email saved (example) | 120 |
| Average order value (example) | $60 |
| Money waiting in those carts | $7,200 |
| If reminders bring back 1 in 10 | $720 a month, $8,640 a year |
At these numbers, Pro ($99.99 a year) costs less than one recovered order. Read more in how to reduce cart abandonment in WooCommerce.

Abandoned cart email best practices
Practical rules for any WooCommerce store, with or without StorePinger. See the full abandoned cart email examples and templates.
Send the first one fast
Interest fades within hours. The first reminder works best while the shopper still remembers the product.
Keep the sequence short
Two or three reminders are plenty. More rarely helps and pushes people to unsubscribe or mark you as spam.
Write subject lines that sound human
“You left something in your cart” and “Still thinking it over?” beat clever wordplay. Keep them short and honest.
Show the products
Photos, names and the total remind shoppers exactly what they wanted. A one-click button back to the filled cart removes effort.
Do not discount by default
Automatic coupons teach shoppers to leave carts and wait. Send an offer only when you choose to.
Answer the real objection
Mention free returns, delivery times or a way to ask a question. Many carts are left because of doubt, not price.
Stop when they buy
Never remind someone who already ordered. It looks careless and costs trust.
Treat them as marketing
In many countries cart reminders count as marketing emails: include an unsubscribe link and respect it.
Measure paid orders
Opens and clicks are nice. The number that matters is the money from orders that were actually paid.

Questions store owners ask
How do I see abandoned carts in WooCommerce?
WooCommerce does not list them on its own. With StorePinger, every cart is saved as soon as something is added. Open Settings, Cart offers to see the carts waiting, or All Reports, Cart Recovery for every cart with its email, value and status.
How many abandoned cart emails should I send?
Two automatic reminders work for most stores: one a few hours later and one the next day. StorePinger uses 3 and 24 hours by default, adds one month-start reminder, and lets you change all of it. Discounts are sent only when you decide.
Does StorePinger send discount codes automatically?
No. You choose the discount and the carts. Each shopper gets a unique, single-use code that expires, so codes cannot be shared or reused.
Can I win back guests who never typed an email?
Yes. Their cart is saved, and when you send an offer, they see it as a small notice on your store when they come back on the same browser. Shoppers who are leaving with a full cart can also be asked to save their cart with their email.
Are abandoned cart emails transactional?
Usually not. Because they encourage a purchase, most email rules treat them as marketing. StorePinger adds an unsubscribe link and a one-click unsubscribe header to every reminder and stops emailing anyone who unsubscribes.
What is a good abandoned cart recovery rate?
It varies widely by store, product and price. Measure your own: StorePinger shows how many carts turned into paid orders and how much revenue they brought.
Will the emails land in spam?
They are sent through your site’s normal email. For best delivery, use an SMTP service such as your host’s email, Brevo or Amazon SES with a plugin like WP Mail SMTP, and set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain.
Which plan includes cart recovery?
Pro ($99.99 a year for one store) and Agency ($999.99 a year for 35 stores). The free plan does not include cart recovery.
Every cart you don’t follow up on is a sale someone else gets.
Turn on cart recovery in minutes. It runs every day after that.
